Hosted by the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE) and organized by the Seoul International Women's Film Festival, 'Film ¡¿ Gender' is a short film production support program. Every year, two short films with creative perspectives of women filmmakers are selected to receive production support. The two films selected last year, SHIN Seungeun's Frontman (2020) and OH Jisoo's Humming (2020) will be screened alongside this year's selections, KIM Boram's A Silent Night and YEUM Moonkyoung's White Night. These four films mull over the discrimination and prejudice present in the school environment, and explores sexual violence in the wake of the #metoo movement as well as gender issues in family. In short, they address the most urgent and pertinent questions of our times. 'Film ¡¿ Gender' will continue to encourage women filmmakers to capture the world facing them with fresh new perspectives free from the existing grammar of cinema. JEONG Jihye / Programmer
