SYNOPSIS

What I believe in life is that everybody living in this world is bound together as a community. (Kim Jin-Yeul)

Out of forty million people in Korea, five million are handicapped and half of these are women. Viewed as outsiders even by other women, handicapped women find themselves tied in another human rights issue. In a society where male preference is prevalent, daughters continue to be a dismay to their parents. To be born physically handicapped is then a double disappointment that comes near to being a curse. Suffering from cerebral paralysis, Kim, Jin-Ok¡¯s philosophy of life is to challenge these conditions that were bestowed on her through no choice of hers. The video gives the outlook of a handicapped woman who, the pride and self-love, takes in life¡¯s adventures and asserts a positive and active attitude toward life. (Kim Seon-A)
