SYNOPSIS
Tari Ito is a performance artist who has searched her identity by performing during 10 years. She revealed her sexual identity as a lesbian in her performance, “Self Portrait” in 1996. She felt it difficult to live in the society that follows men’s values. She began new performances to try to explore the body and eroticism of a life in the face of sexual discrimination and heterosexuality in 1998.

Yamagami started her career in video filmmaking from 1980. Her works have mainly focused on women’s issues. Subsequently, she has established the non-profit organization, WORK=INN for video-workshops and TV distribution for programs on women’s issues.
