In the wake of a rape, a young ultra-orthodox woman awaits the Rabbinical court’s decision whether or not her husband must divorce her in accordance with the Jewish law that states “A cohen’s (a descendant of a temple priest) wife who was raped is forbidden to her husband.” Directed by an orthodox woman, Cohen’s Wife is a provocative modern day portrait of a couple torn by religious dogma and familial devotion.
