Kim completed the short animation production program at Future Art and digital filmmaking program at Kyung Hee University. She also attended the animation workshop by Ishu Patel and directed Never Mind the Tomorrow (1997), A Picture Painted on the Wall (1998) and The Young Dancer(1998).
