SYNOPSIS

Emma Goldman, the feminist anarchist once said ¡°If I can¡¯t dance, I don¡¯t want to be in your revolution.¡± Rise Up! follows Goldman¡¯s words exactly. With interviews and performances, the film chronicles the struggles by members of a feminist performance group that combines art with activism. Two things matter to them: first, the body as the tool of expression against the patriarchy; second, the pleasures coming from that expression. It¡¯s not the revolution any more if the women can¡¯t dance. (Kim Sun-ah)
