SYNOPSIS

A tribe lives peacefully at the other side of the volcano. Suddenly, the volcano awakens and they are forced to leave their home. But a boy and his family come back to the other side of the volcano. Tough but emotional characters and the way of depicting them are harmonized with traditional music of the Philippines. In addition, the introspective views on humanity, nature, and the environment are worthy of attention.

  • Ellen RamosEllen Ramos

    Ellen Ramos worked as an architect before she joined an animation workshop at the Mowelfund Film Institute in 1992. The Other Side of the Volcano won First Prize for Animation at the 1997 CCP Awards for Alternative Film & Video and has been selected to compete in various international film festivals. After coordinating several film workshops, she now facilitates film education programs at the MFI.
