Anneke de Lind Van Wijngaarden captures the honesty and giddiness of adolescent life in her documentary Titties. In the school cafeteria, 13-year-old girls talk frankly about growing boobs, kissing, boys and being too fat. No subjects are too sacred over chips and Coke. The boys are also given their share of film time, as they explain why they always have such strange looks on their faces during pool time in gym class. The presence of the camera doesn’t seem to affect the youth, as these VMBO (lower secondary professional education) students bare their souls to one another without pretense. (Production note)
