The easiest population control policy of underdeveloped countries is for the government to exercise authority and control over women’s pregnancy and childbirth. In this case, the woman’s body becomes a mere tool for reproduction. In Operation, women’s testimonies, newsreels and government propaganda material are used to critique how Puerto Rico controlled the population rate by regulating women’s bodies. (Kim Il-ran)
