Starting with the noise from a vacuum cleaner and women doing domestic chores like cleaning windows, ironing and cleaning every corner of a house, the film tells stories of Turkish women laborers as housekeepers in a big city of Turkey. Most of the women working as housekeeper from 5 to 30 years are from poor families from the labor class that could not afford to educate their daughters, so they start working to support their own families or for escaping from abusive and/or incompetent husbands. However, based on the financial independence achieved by their own bare hands, they start a small yet meaningful, collective to fight for bringing changes to an oppressive family structure and Turkish society and at the same time claiming their freedom and rights. All the fights they wage are to help their daughters to avoid the troubled, unfair ways of life that they have been led to live. (Billy Choi)
