SYNOPSIS


Day-to-day life in this world is a journey full of curiosities for performance artist and cartoonist, Amy. Nothing is natural for her. She cannot understand why a woman has to marry a man, a boy carries a blue bag and a girl a pink one, and even before choosing their own gender people are given a gendered name like Jane or John. Amy¡¯s story challenges all of the prejudices constructed by gendering. (Jay SOHN)

    She majored Craft Arts in Tokyo National University of Fine Arts. Worked for an advertising company, Dentsu Tec Inc. Tokyo as a graphic designer for seven years, Yorico moved into Los Angeles California and enrolled USC Cinema-TV Division of Animation and Digital Arts as a graduate. Her animated film Elevator (2002) and Heart on Fire (2005) have been exhibited in several international film festivals.
