SYNOPSIS

Because gay marriage is illegal in the USA, gay people cannot insist upon any legal rights in their relationships. Brooklyn¡¯s long-term life partner ends up in the hospital after a car accident but she cannot hear about her partner¡¯s condition from the doctors nor even see her partner because she is not a ¡®family¡¯ member. Through Brooklyn¡¯s struggle and that of her son Jordan, this film reveals the violence of a homophobic society and depicts the possibility of an alternative conception of family. (Jay SOHN)
