SYNOPSIS

 Synopsis
Passion is a film about a middle-aged, married couple and their search for what used to be.

 Program Note
A middle-aged woman comes home with a shopping basket. Slowly, she takes off her clothes, has a bath, goes to the bed, and lies down. She tosses and turns, and we cannot guess what she has in mind. Within a motionless frame, she constitutes a hollow yet powerful image - just like the women we find in Edward Hopper\'s paintings. This is an extraordinary work with realistic descriptions of a middle-aged couple¡¯s sexual life. The director keeps up the suspense in the film until the very end. (Jay SOHN)
