International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam 2009
DOK Leipzig International Film Festival 2009

 Synopsis
Miri lives on her own in a suburb of Linkoping, Sweden. She works as a librarian. Every day she writes a personal blog. She takes photographs of herself and uploads them onto the internet. She writes about the life she leads and shares her thoughts with the world surrounding her. Book of Miri is a film about searching for identity, about double life and dreams.

Program Note
Sweden or Korea, birth year 1975, a librarian, two cats, pictures on her own, and a blog. Miri¡¯s offline space is dull and boring, but her Internet blog is full of vitality expressing herself and communicating with the world. While we sit in front of a computer alone, we wish to share our lives inside the computer, desperately. Click a picture of our own like in the fashion magazine. Click the lines from a typewriter on that picture. Click the fancy colors. Click Miri¡¯s blog http://bookofmiri.blogg.se/. This film is for the young generations who are familiar with the image narratives of fashion, chats, and restaurants and used to technical gadgets such as twitter, blog, and iPhone. It also shows the identity of the generations floating across the boring real space and the free virtual space created by media. (SIM Hye-kyong)
