The combined identity of separated couple, teachers, family members, and transgender can’t silence the two people. Now He is a She tells their unique and touching story, and they choose to replace disgrace by understanding. Twenty years of life has passed, but their story in not finished yet.

This is a documentary of unusual but touching story about an ex-husband and wife. There‘s not enough explanation for these two who are separated, a teacher, the family, a transgender, and etc.. She is no longer the same person who she married. Although the wife still loves her husband, the husband feels endless pity for her. Their relationship is bound with solid kinship and love but it cannot ever satisfy their desire. Even after twenty years, their story continues. The film is about a coming-out of a transgender and it unravels the subtle and emotional problems that entail the relationship after the operation. The lingering melody played on the piano together with the wife singing delivers her inevitable sense of loss to the audience. (CHO Hye-young)
