In the mountain village of the Black Sea Mountains in Turkey, 11 years old Zephyr spends a vacation at her grand parents¡Æ¨ª house. A boring daily life in the country where she cannot find any new or exciting things to do makes Zephyr going stir-crazy as much as the air with the mist there do. Her only hope is that her mother who will come to pick her up. Zephyr waits for her mother to come at the entrance to the village. However the news she receives is the announcement that her mother will be away for much longer and much further away.
The director, explored themes of ¡®a youngster¡® s obsession with a mother¡® and ¡®a death¡® from the previous short film, explains she took main character¡®s name Zephyr from Zephyros the god of a the west wind and jealousy in Greek mythology. As the god of a calm wind Zephyros leads Hyacinthus to death due to being blinded by jealousy from ardent love, this film describes the product of one girl¡®s ardent love and jealousy toward her mother in a shocking manner through the scenery of a quiet countryside in Turkey. (Jay SHON)
