Dinner starts with the friendship of an old lady and a young ex-convict. Due to his working hours, the ex-convict encounters the old lady every night, sitting in front of a church and seemingly waiting for someone. Everything seems normal until a new visitor turns up on the seventh day of the seventh month, which is 'Qixi', commonly known as the Chinese Valentine's Day.

There is an elderly woman who seems to be waiting for someone, and there is a young man who runs into her every day. And on Qixi, the Chinese Valentine’s Day, magic begins and surreal romance becomes possible. The strength of Dinner is art – the set and the lighting that superbly portray the cheerful and nostalgic ambience of the film. 1924’s busy street overflowing with vitality and the elderly woman’s fantastic reminiscence briefly warms the heart.
