La Patrona, a small community next to the routes of the train in the State of Veracruz, is a group of women who claim every day human quality on having shared what they have.

The Landlady was invited by Cannes Film Festival in 2011. The film focuses on a small women’s community in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. Thousands of Latin Americans attempt to migrate to North America by crossing through Mexico. To those migrants, “La Patrona” becomes a milestone of hope, and the women of this community give life to the migrants. In 5 short minutes, this film visualizes strong women who change lives through sharing in the reality full of negligence. This intense short film has been reproduced by other directors into mid and feature-length documentaries. (HONG So-in)
