SYNOPSIS

Bone Wind Fire is an intimate and evocative journey into the hearts, minds and eyes of Georgia O¡¯KEEFFE, Emily CARR and Frida KAHLO¡ªthree of the 20th century¡¯s most remarkable artists. Using the women¡¯s own words, taken from their letters and diaries, the film reveals three individual creative processes in all their subtle and fascinating variety.

Georgia O¡¯KEEFFE, Emily CARR and Frida KAHLO. The film screens the world of art and the philosophy of female artists who passionately lived through the 20th century. The world that the three artists felt and experienced is revived through the hands of a veteran director, Jill SHARPE, who has been filming for almost 20 years, and the narration written from the private records of O¡¯KEEFFE, CARR and KAHLO is narrated. The film individually brings out the stories of the three artists while generalizing ¡®female artist¡¯ through common experiences that they shared as women. Jill SHARPE, who is also a female artist, shows an interesting montage that creates new semantic network with paintings and writings of her predecessors. (Jay SOHN)
