SYNOPSIS

With commanding cinematic style, Montgomery retraces events of a night nine years ago when, between her boyfriend\'s dorm and her parent\'s house, she was raped at gunpoint. Super 8 camera in tow, she uncovers the psychology of the incident, relating how the authorities and her family tried to disavow her claims and the crime. Pondering the bland suburban landscape, her subsequent obsession with guns and the blurring of guilt, responsibility and betrayal, Montgomery boldly masters the trauma through memory, self-narration and artistic intervention.

On the road to her home, which she can draw even with her eyes closed, there is a spot for an invisible red dot. Jennifer MONTGOMERY has made a detour for last 9 years to avoid the road, but now she stands on the red dot holding a camera. MONTGOMERY visits the calm suburban area and peers at it through a shaky Super 8 camera lens in order to look back on detailed memories from the night she returned home from her friend¡¯s dorm party. Home Avenue follows her as she tries to find her own road in the confusing memories that are repeated in a documentary-styled reenactment. [Seulki Choi Lee]
