SynopsisA sensitive portrayal of a young office worker alleges sexual abuse by her employer. She loses her job as a result of her claims. In this scenario, both the fellow workers and the boyfriend of the young girl fail to understand her situation, somehow blaming her for what happened. The investigator for the case has a difficult task in extracting evidence from people associated with the manager and is left with many unanswered questions.

“What ‘kind of’ woman was she?” When young office worker Lorraine alleges that her boss sexually harassed her, that question begins to work into every space around her with the intention of casting doubt upon her. Jane CAMPION’s After Hours (1984) shows every imaginable nightmare that follows once sexual harassment is committed in the workplace. With the film’s attempt to understand the irony permeating through this suffocating portrayal of collective and subtle violence, we can’t help but think of our current situation, 30 years after the release of the film.
