SYNOPSIS

The movie is new rendering of traditional Russian folk song Katjusha, made before the Olympic Games in Sochi, showing support for the Russian LBGT community facing new oppressive laws. The story itself centers on The Olympic Torch Relay carrying the Olympic flame and love towards its final destination with a twist.


 

In support of sexual minorities in Russia and criticizing Putin¡¯s oppressive policies, To Russia with Love was produced immediately before the Sochi
 Winter Olympics, and it was introduced to the world through an online campaign. ¡®Le Zbor¡¯, a Croatian lesbian and feminist choir, directed and starred in
 this film which is a music video for the Russian folk song Katjusha, portraying a world where a diversity of love and life exist. [HONG So-in]

Director

  • Le ZborLe Zbor

    Based in Zagreb, Le Zbor is the first lesbian-feminist choir in southeastern Europe. Since its formation in 2005, the choir has been a promotor of human rights and activism through arts and culture, participating in various art projects, including over 130 performances, films, theatre, and fine arts. Le Zbor¢¥s repertoire consists of covers of Croatian and international pop rock hits, revolutionary songs, and traditional songs in new arrangements.

  • Tomislav FIKETTomislav FIKET

    Tomislav Fiket was born in Zagreb, and started as a documentarist focusing on social issues and minorities, and has directed films on women and children victims of violence. Currently he is working on preproduction of feature documentary Pjesma iza zida(Song behind the wall) about the concert of Le Zbor (lesbian-feminist choir) in female prison and also on his first motion picture.
