SYNOPSIS

Synopsis
The beautiful sea is now off limits due to the construction of a new naval base, and I experience an uncontrollable physical change. I wish I could forget about my body¡¯s condition and the blocked off sea, and just swim freely.

Program Note
The Membrane begins with the image of the clean ocean. Soon, the image and the sound of the ocean are played to diverse variations: the outer
ocean, the construction site of Jeju island naval base, a sonogram of a fetus and a pregnant woman swimming and staring between the images.
The Membrane illustrates the paradoxical nature of the ocean, both as the medium to freedom and expansion, but also as the source which
impedes expansion and freedom. The Membrane is an experimental film that depicts the world of reason through proper images and sound
 effects. [HWANG Miyojo]
