SYNOPSIS

Synopsis
Satoru and Megumi, 5 years old, have survived a serious bus accident. Visiting the site of the accident for a memorial service, Satoru finds a ventriloquist¡¯s doll named Jacqueline. The original owner of Jacqueline, Ikkokudo, offers the doll to Satoru. The little boy starts to practice ventriloquism in the children¡¯s home where he now lives. This brings back for the first time, since his parents¡¯ death, a smile to his face. 13 years have passed. One day, Satoru learns from Megumi that the head of his former children¡¯s home, Sumiko, is in had health. For her, Satoru decides to perform his ventriloquist act with Jacqueline at the home¡¯s ¡°King of Comedy Festival¡±.

Program Note
Dolls are usually for children. Jacqueline is a doll. It¡¯s generally not well received when a grown man always carries a doll with him, even if that man
is a gorgeous young actor like SOMETANI Shota. Yet, he who lived with Jacqueline since childhood, opens up to Jacqueline, and interacts with other
people through Jacqueline, is warmly welcomed by everyone. A heart-warming fairy tale for grownups about communication. [LEE Angela]
