SYNOPSIS

On January 1st, 2015, five young people who are
majoring in Korean traditional music found out it is
not easy to make a living in Korea. So, they decided
to leave for Spain to be street musicians, taking
musical instruments with them. This is the way these
 country folks start their journey.

Program Note

Words like ‘dream’ and ‘hope’ vanish into thin air when five women confront earning their own bread. This short documentary film may remind you a book written by a head of the conglomerate, ‘It’s a big world, and there is a lot to be done’. They try to make a living with all they have; musical instruments. The courage, regrets, talents, futility, hopes and friendship expressed could move your heart. The strong and beautiful energy created by free spirits who don’t mind others. [Jenna Ku]

"Art deserves more. We, as young traditional artists face reality where there is no place in field of traditional arts. Like K-pop surprisingly did, we desire Guk-Ak to be widely spreaded all over the world and that will make a worth-living way for young Guk-Ak generation who follow in traditional legacy.‘Making a living with Guk-Ak’
