SYNOPSIS

Ji-he and Min-kyung, both currently working as a
hair salon assistant, want to do a kid\'s haircut. Of
course, it\'s just their luck that the customer\'s coat
decides to disappear on the same day, of all days.

Program Note

Ji-hye and Min-kyung, who have worked in
a hair salon as assistants for about three years, are competing with each other
for the job of being in charge of kids’ haircutting under the suggestion of the
hair salon owner. Ji-hye is constantly bothered by her same-age competitor
Min-kyung and gets anxious wanting to be the one who does kids’ haircuts. She
feels that simply doing the job at her assigned workspace is not enough, and
she keenly observes the atmosphere and power dynamics of the hair salon in
hopes of seizing any opportunity that she can use to her advantage. After
numerous and endless approaches and efforts, Ji-hye gets to do kids’ haircuts,
but she feels uncomfortable rather than being happy about her achievement. The
film does a great job portraying the work and every day sentiments of
20-somethings, who have too many obstacles to overcome to simply be comforted
by the mere words, “Fight on youth!” [KANG Ba-da]
