SYNOPSIS

The Female Masculinity Appreciation Society is a sort of gentlemen¡¯s club for queer women and those who love them. Follow Cookie and Foxy Ven in their quest to reach the arm-wrestling finals, discover the reason behind Rubyyy¡¯s ginger moustache and judge for yourself the standards in Dapper wear. Filmed at Wotever World in London¡¯s iconic queer pub The Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

A group of women congregate in London¡¯s famous queer pub Royal Vauxhall Tavern to attend the festival that gives them an opportunity to express and measure their masculinity with each other. These diverse groups of individuals, including lesbians, trans-males, as well as heterosexual females, assert their masculinity in their very own unique way and boast of their physical strength through arm-wrestling competition. The masculinity of these women is expressed in many different ways. Some individuals bring their masculinity out to the fore, while others wear men¡¯s suits that are decorated with elegant feminine elements. These expressions of masculinity also differ based on these individual¡¯s backgrounds. From beginning to end, the film delightfully shows the audience that there are a variety of ways these women express and appreciate masculinity, that masculinity is neither narrowly defined nor natural but is something that needs to be explored and cultivated, and that women have played a huge role in forming this idea of contemporary masculinity.
