SYNOPSIS

SYNOPSIS
This film is an exhibition clip for the project of Room Sharing of Myeongja and Yeongja in which describes female workers¡¯ embroidering process on underpants. Thirty workers embroider whatever they have wanted to tell on underpants, and these embroidered thirty white underpants transform into 6 flowers with 5 petals each.

PROGRAM NOTE

 Thirty women workers who used to work at a sewing factory in the Guro Industrial Complex get together and embroider what they wanted to say on their panties. They all left their hometown, settled down in Seoul, worked hard at the factory, protested against unfair labor practices, and got imprisoned for calling for the release of their fellow workers. For them, panties are a symbol indicating how much pride they take in being factory workers. White panties embroidered with the thirty different stories including the ones about a ¡°13-year-old girl, an accomplice, labor, fever, human flower, and a friend¡± get transformed into six flowers of solidarity with five petals. Director

  • KIM Sun-minKIM Sun-min

    Born 1974 in Seoul. Kim Sun-min graduated from the Film Department at Seoul Institute of the Arts, and from Korean Academy of Film Arts. She has shown her constant interests in minorities and people on the margin, and those interests were shaped into short films, and exhibition films. Her directorial works include One Korea (2001), Looking Back (2001), Dream of Snail (2003), After Love (2004), Garivegas (2005), Looking for the Statue of Export (2015), etc. While in preproduction for a film on laborers in Garibong-dong area, she passed away from cancer on April 18, 2017
