SYNOPSIS

With her final high school exam in 3 weeks, Mati needs to decide whether to wear a pink dress for graduation like her mom requested and follow in her mother¡¯s footsteps and study at a university in Vienna to become a vet, but Mati is a tomboy who rides motorcycles and hangs out with boys. As if these decisions aren¡¯t hard enough, she keeps facing important decisions throughout the 3 weeks. Having always taken her guy friends¡¯ sides even when they tease girls, Mati is awkward about her closest friend Sebastian confessing to her; at the same time, Mati becomes closer with her female classmate Carla, who always criticized her and Sebastian¡¯s group, but hides this from Sebastian and his group. Like Mati says, to acknowledge that one has new desires, you need to risk the fear of change, and this doesn¡¯t only just apply to teen-aged Mati; Mati¡¯s mother, who coincidentally found out her husband¡¯s secret, and Mati¡¯s father, who has been living with a secret desire, are both not free from this fear. The film is memorable for its delicate depiction of Mati¡¯s inner thoughts portraying the confusion caused by these new emotions, as well as its point of view, that ¡®life is a continuous process of facing the contradictions that rise to the surface¡¯ through the story of her parents. It is worth remembering this Austrian director Katharina MÜCKSTEIN, who has been received recognition since her first feature film Talea, for the delicate shades of psychology of her characters.
