Film Feminism's New Challenge: Toward the Body beyond the Gaze and for the Joy of Differences

In celebration of SIWFF's 20th anniversary, there will be an international conference with the theme of "Film Feminism's New Challenge". This conference will criticize the narrow-minded perspective of the frame, and the representation of women that are limited by the ceilings of the celluloid, and explore the film production and enjoyment of decentralized, open, and diverse individuals. This discussion will call to attention the need to discuss the new hash tag movement as well as the changes taking place in the film media around the globe, and the hot issues of cinema, technology, and gender politics that are intertwined within the gender equality movement. This international conference will be an opportunity for film feminists across countries such as France, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea to come together and explore and discover new perspectives of feminism in film in terms of theory, field, and daily life.
