Ock Rang Documentary Rewrites History of Korean Feminist Documentary

This special talk will provide the space to discuss the purpose of the Ock Rang Documentary Film Award - which has already supported the production of eighteen films, and the production of feminist documentaries with filmmakers whose films are invited to this year’s encore screening of Ock Rang Documentary to celebrate SIWFF’s 20th year.

The event will consist of the screening of five short films made as part of the 'Seoul Women's Walk: Filmmaking Project' and a discussion led by young female directors who took part in the project. Panels will review the films, produced with a clear purpose of arousing public opinion on women's issues, and discuss the issues of today's female young adults, solutions to these problems, as well as the potential of such film projects.

Remember CHOI Eun-hee behind the Camera

CHOI Eun-hee has made herself known numerous times as a renowned actress, but she was also a director who was behind the camera for four films. Along with the program ‘In Memory of Versatile CHOI Eun-hee: CHOI behind the Camera,’ which will present her films The Girl Raised as a Future Daughter-in-law, and One-sided Love of Princess, SIWFF will provide the opportunity for participants to remember and discuss the acting and directing experiences of CHOI Eun-hee, someone who had infinite passion for cinema like nobody else.
