The word “we” refers to the people associated with or on our side. “So” implies a state that surpasses a certain degree, and ‘persistent’ means strong determination and endurance.
“We Are So Persistent!” When I first heard this phrase, it immediately provided me with comfort and courage, perhaps because I deeply understood the underlying meaning of each word. Over the past few years, I often felt stuck and exhausted, unable to make progress no matter how hard I tried. However, now I realize I am overcoming my limits and persevering with strength because of being with all of you. Perhaps all this time, we have been enduring the scorching heat together, clinging to the iron bar, constantly renewing our records as we dripped thick sweat. Always receiving unwavering support and cheers from my friends who are on my side. We celebrate the new record and look forward to the following remarkable achievement because “We Are So Persistent!” (YOON Ga-eun)
Yoon Ga-eun started filmmaking with her first short film The Taste of Salvia (2009) and went on to write and direct films, including Guest (2011) and Sprout (2013). Guest won the Grand Prix in the International Competition section at the Clermont-Ferrand Intl. Short Film Festival in 2012, and Sprout received the Generation Kplus Crystal Bear at the Berlinale in 2014. Her feature film debut, The World of Us (2016), won Best New Director at the Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2016 and Best Screenplay at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2017. Her second feature film, The House of Us (2019), was invited to numerous film festivals, including the 2019 London IFF and the 2020 Udine Far East Film Festival.
