Korean Film 100 Years: Rewriting Film History from the Feminist Perspective

To celebrate the 100 years of Korean cinema, SIWFF holds an international conference under the title of Rewriting Film History from the Feminist Perspective. The conference will be a place to critically examine the film history written by malecentric narrative and language while excluding and objectifying women. It is also a place to seek the possibility of the feminist perspective and language to be included in the film history and the methodology thereof. Film scholars, critics, and activists from Korea, Hong Kong and UK. who have written the film history from feminist perspectives, will discuss feminist criticism, feminist writers, and the methodology of history writing.
