Synopsis

With the school volleyball tournament approaching, the team is one player short. For Do-eun, who dreams of entering a sports university, this is a crucial opportunity. She persuades Chaerin, a former player who quit due to injury, to join. But Chaerin focuses only on her own plays and soon clashes with Do-eun, dampening team spirit. When Do-eun injures her ankle, Chaerin, who was once obsessed with winning, is moved by the passion of the clumsy but determined team and slowly begins to open her heart.

Director's Statement

Before I transferred to a specialized sports high school in the summer of 2024, I was just an ordinary student at a general school. There, I decided to enter a volleyball tournament with friends who had only played during a middle school PE assignment. Our PE teacher told us to give up, saying we had no chance. But in the end, our passion and determination even inspired the teacher. We didn¡¯t have the advanced skills to deliver powerful spikes, but we pulled off a miracle by winning a match against a top-seeded team. I wanted to turn this cliché yet moving story into a film. In sports, people often remember the result more than the journey. But without the process, the result wouldn¡¯t exist. When we think back on hard or joyful times, it¡¯s usually the journey we remember. What we gain, how much we grow, and whether we felt joy—these are what make sports meaningful and keep us going. I made this film to remind those worn down by pressure that their passion and effort during the process matter too.
