Director's Statement
My heart is often filled with fear and anxiety. In those moments, I’ve always tried to run away from that dark and frightening feeling. But now, instead of turning away from myself or abandoning who I am, I’ve tried to reflect on a new path—one where I learn to love the parts of me I once hated.

JOUNG YumiJoung Yumi is a director and illustrator known for her delicate and distinctive pencil-drawing style in both animation and picture books. Her animated short Dust Kid (2009) was invited to the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes. Love Games (2013) premiered at Berlinale Shorts and won the Grand Prix at Animafest Zagreb. Her most recent work, Glasses (2025), was invited to the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. In 2019, she became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
