“Polemics” of SIWFF is a section that presents clinical and urgent feminist agendas of the year, and it organizes related film screenings and an intensive forum every year. The theme of the 24th edition of Polemics Forum is “The Sense of and the Consensus on Imminent Justice,” and the forum will be co-hosted by the Critical Global Studies Institute at Sogang University. Currently, there are fiercer debates than ever over equity, especially the equity over minorities including women and the disabled. Rather than converging into social justice for the minorities, however, the debates cause the situations that raise questions about the meaning of equity and its practice. In response, we ask questions about the sentiment and the context of contemporary equity being constructed and made discourse and envision the future value to be pursued through the 24th forum. Beginning with the current arrangement, we would like to explore the value that will be completed in the future through its cracks, power, and energy. The films in this section are those that make us contemplate the current sense of equity in a multi-layered manner, including refugees, racial diversity, ecologicalism and development, gender division of labor, and sexual diversity. In addition to raising issues, let us take a close look at the contexts in which each issue is situated, and meet the films that make us think about the power of constructing the issues in various ways.
