Sponsored by BNP Paribas, the I-Teens Competition is a section for short films made by teenage Korean female filmmakers. 38 films were submitted, the highest number in the competition¡¯s history, with 7 films shortlisted after the preliminary screening. The selected films depict various issues related to student life, romance, friendship, parents, domestic violence, women, part-time jobs, and the female body through the cinematic perspectives of young female directors. Some films reveal the creators¡¯ concerns regarding filmmaking and creative activities. The selection this year consists of 5 feature films, 1 documentary and 1 animation which all convey the unique perspectives of Korean teenage females. During the festival, the teenage female jury will watch the films and select one to receive the BNP Paribas Grand Award (1 million KRW cash prize and a trophy) and two for the BNP Paribas Award (500,000 KRW cash prize and a trophy).
