SIWFF 25 Forum
Rethinking Women’s Film History & Women’s Film Festivals

In celebration of the festival’s 25th anniversary, SIWFF presents a special program and forum using RE:Discover as a keyword to reexamine and shed light on the masterpieces of women’s films. Through this special program and forum, the participants explore the evolution and current trends of women’s film history that have evolved with the times, as well as discuss the role of women’s film festivals as a platform for discovery and building solidarity. Film scholars and organizers of women’s film festivals around the world, including Internationales Frauen Film Fest Dortmund+Köln, Women Make Waves International Film Festival, Seoul International Women’s Film Festival, Women's Film Festival in Gwangju and Local Women’s Film Festival Network of Korea will share their thoughts and insights about women’s film history in relation to the role of women’s film festivals to rethink the steps up to now and the vision for the future.

This year’s theme of Polemics Talk is “Image, Walls, or Possibility.” Critics and creators reflect on the relationship between women and images through their perspectives.
