SYNOPSIS

Ha Mun-soon and Park Bok-ja recall the Gwangju Uprising as pain and pride. Sli and Neyap, a Cambodian minority, endure difficult periods. Palestinian women Noura and Fatma, growing old in a refugee camp, watched their children die. Ramizawa and Amela talk about the precarious lives of gypsy women. Meanwhile, the directors' two children grow into their twenties.

PROGRAM NOTE

Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Palestinian refugee camps, and Gwangju in South Korea. Women in these places live in the aftermath of war and state violence. Finding time for mourning and recovery is difficult for those who have filled their daily lives with work and childcare. They recall the past in front of the camera of ¡°Sanggue,¡± the filmmaking community led by Kim Tae-il and Ju Ro-mi, the married couple directors,  working with their children Kim Sanggu and Kim Songi. With the goal of rewriting world history with a new narrative, they have been carrying out the People¡¯s World History project, traveling to various locations. As part of this project, they have completed three feature-length documentaries. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their shooting has become difficult, and they capture the stories of women while reflecting on the joys and sorrows of their family production. The unique identity of Again the Wind Blows can be observed from the beginning, where home videos are artfully edited into the opening scene. This small group experiences the intimate tension between work and relationships, growing together regardless of age, never losing their sense of humor even in the middle of their concern for each other. These strengths also shine through their relationships with the women they meet, enriching the film and their lives. [NAM Sunwoo]
