SYNOPSIS

Synopsis

A feminist Japanese filmmaker meets a female artist who engaged in the legendary art movement Fluxus in 1960s NYC. The artist expresses antifeminist views, leading the filmmaker to embark on a journey to learn more about her.

Program Note

The director has worked hard with the belief that 'your efforts don't betray you regardless of gender.' However, she realizes that the world isn't equal, and asks herself - 'Can I go on living as a female artist?' The director plans to meet Fluxus artist SHIOMI Mieko to find the answer but ends up with unexpected responses. Looking at the artist's life, the director realizes that women have fought in their own ways throughout the years. Though each generation may have different ideas of feminism, every woman is walking the same path. The film pays respect to the history of women. [CHOI Mina]
