SYNOPSIS

Suki and Cheoli are high schoolers of Korean descent. They are good students and care for other people. Living near the Duman River, they promise to live like the blue river forever. However, Cheoli buys motorbikes and a mobile phone with the money from his mother working in Korea and afterward breaks the promise he made with Suki.

PROGRAM NOTE

Let the Blue River Run is full of hearts to be clear and wide, to hug a returnee with open arms, to be with beloved ones and do anything with them. The film is set in a school for ethnic Koreans in Gil Lim, China. Students in their adolescence live with different faces. Someone disappears, another smokes, and another dreams of a nice motorbike and a mobile phone. That means this place is not an ideal school full of innocence and positive energy. The important thing is the power of perseverance in life. It is also Han Yeri¡¯s second feature. In hindsight, it was more meaningful. Han¡¯s face is remembered as staying in a place intruding on the film¡¯s innocence, but in fact, it was an active image linking the energy of life and constantly reacting to her surroundings. It is easy to be lethargic and grow hard to be with friends in the real world. Can we continue to live not to blame others like water drops or pebbles that struggle every day? Suki (Han Yeri), who gently dances on a rainy day and cries while reading poems, quietly comforts us by saying it can be so. [SON Sinae]
