  • KIM Soo-jung

    Director

    After being selected for the Hankook Ilbo Literary Contest in 2005, Kim worked as a playwright and began her career in film with the 2011 film Imagine. She went on to direct A Blue Mouthed Face (2015), Suitcase on the Beach (2017), Why Did You Park Like That (2019), and Unboxing Girl (2021), winning the New Culture Female Award in 2016.

  • OK Ja-yeon

    Actor

    Actor Ok Ja-yeon built a relationship with the SIWFF as a cast of the film Archaeology of Love, which was screened at the Discovery section of the 24th SIWFF. A winner of Best Actor at the 23rd JEONJU IFF, she has been actively involved in acting through films including The Snob (2019) , Ashfall (2019), and TV dramas including The Uncanny Counter (2021), Mine (2021), Big Mouth (2022), Under the Queen's Umbrella (2022), Queenmaker (2023), and plays including Sauntering (2020) and Hiding White Flowers (2022).

  • WADA-MARCIANO Mitsuyo

    Professor, Kyoto University

    Wada-Marciano Mitsuyo is Professor of Transcultural Studies in Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto University. She is the author of Nippon Modern (2008), Japanese Cinema in the Digital Age (2012), and Japanese Filmmakers in the Wake of Fukushima (2023). Her research interests are Japanese visual culture, East Asian Cinema, and feminist theory.

    Director

    Kim Jungeun graduated from Film and Video at Yongin University and made short films such as In This Town (2015), Night Working (2017), and Magdalena (2018). She made her feature film debut with Gyeong-ah’s Daughter (2022), which received the CGV Arthouse Distribution Support Award and the Watcha’s Pick: Feature award at the 23rd JEONJU IFF. She is also actively involved as an art instructor.

  • SONG Hyojoung

    Film Critic, Associate Professor, S-LAC at Daegu University

    After winning The 12th Cine21 Film Critics Award, Song has continued with journal criticism and has been active as a writer and programmer at the IndieForum Writers’ Society. As a researcher, she focuses on the cultural order during the colonial-liberation-Cold War period in South Korea and is engaged in representational systems as a film critic.

  • HWANG Hei-rim

    Programmer, SIWFF

    Hei-rim HWANG was a staff writer at the weekly film magazine Cine 21 for six years from 1997, and has been writing for various publications since. After studying Film Studies at Birkbeck, University of London, she worked as a programmer at the Seoul Eco Film Festival from 2006 to 2011. She has been working for several film festivals, including Seoul Independent Film Festival and Seoul Intl. Architecture Film Festival, and since 2015, for Seoul Intl. Food Film Festival. As an independent producer, she has worked on feature-length documentaries such as Sanda (2013), The Truth Shall Not Sink with Sewol (2014) and The Voice of the Voiceless (in production). Co-managing director and producer at the film production/distribution company Metaplay, she has distributed several films such as The Running Actress (2017) and Cats’ Apartment (2020).
